Catholic College Sale

College Governance

The College is governed by the Bishop of Sale and the Provincial of the Marist Brothers.  Together they hold legal responsibility for the College.  They accept responsibility for the sponsorship of the College - the attendant obligations imposed by Canon Law of which are –

  • to protect the Catholic identity of the College,
  • to oversee the proper administration of the College and
  • to protect the fiscal solvency of the College.

The Governors establish the Catholic College Sale Council and constitute the employing authority.  The Governors appoint the Principal and designate the Principal as their agent in employing personnel and dismissing staff.  The Governors delegate to the administration of the College to the Principal.
