Student Leadership

The College Pastoral Systems promotes a sense of pride for students and provides many opportunities, in a safe and encouraging environment, for students to become College Leaders.
In addition to the College Captains and House Captains, there are several student positions of leadership. These include positions in the fields of Celebrations, Academic, Service, Sports, Planning and Environment, Health and Wellbeing, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. The variety of positions available enables the College to maintain a balance across the diverse range of student interests. Students from years 9 to 12 are eligible to apply for these positions, and are appointed following an interview process.
At Years 9 to 12, students appointed to these positions make up the College and House Cabinets which operate in a similar way to the Federal and State levels of parliament, each with their own specific areas of responsibility. Cabinet members meet regularly and are supported by a teacher who works closely with them in an advisory capacity only.
At Year 7 and 8, similar leadership positions exist. Two Campus Captains work closely with the House Captains, whilst a Student Representative Council operates in a similar way to the cabinets at the St Patrick’s campus.
All Student Leadership positions at the College have role descriptions and students are required to sign a statement of commitment before being officially appointed. They are also required to attend an induction day at the commencement of the year, and will undergo a formal review after one term in their position. This ensures that all student leaders develop a
greater understanding of the general principles of leadership, and have a thorough knowledge of their specific role.
